For my April project, I covered the Day of Dialogue that took place at Ladue on April 20th. I had a lot of fun filming this project. It was a little bit stressful running around the school on the 20th filming different events. Unfortunately, there was an error with the iris that I was unable to fix while filming so some of my shots came out over exposed. Other shots were not in focus. I will have to remember to always check my shots before filming in the future. However, I did the best with the B Roll I had. I'm lucky that my interviews were really good; the two students I interviewed really helped tell the story. I ran into another problem when going to record a voiceover. The microphone was picking up interference so I decided to just use my iPad to record the voiceover instead of spending a lot of time checking out another microphone because I still needed to add some final touches to the video. Although it does not sound the best, I think it still sounds okay. This video was a good learning experience about how to cover news stories live and work for a deadline.
